Job Description Summary

This position offers a diverse set of responsibilities and will work alongside senior management of the Oldcastle Lawn & Garden Central group on various matters and projects. The candidate is a skilled financial professional who understands business, operations and financial processes; has the ability to integrate finance and operations and can collaborate with operational leadership in support of successfully managing the business. Core behavioral characteristics we seek include: being a partner to business managers; implementing analytical decision-making in the business; and, proactively finding opportunities and recommending ideas for increased profitability through detailed financial analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of accounting team
  • Financial responsibility for a region consisting of 16 manufacturing plants
  • Involved in the preparation of monthly financial statements ensuring all statements are appropriately analyzed and correctly stated
  • Review balance sheet accounts monthly to confirm proper reconciliation and supporting documentation
  • Review monthly financials with business unit managers addressing any issues
  • Perform month end closing activities accruals, subledger reconciliations, statistical entries, etc.
  • Prepare for and respond to internal and external audit requests
  • Compile/analyze financial data from multiple sources by way of Excel, Tableau, Infor M3, SRSS
  • Ensure adequate SOX and internal controls are in place and maintained to safeguard financial assets
  • Recommend, lead and/or assist with new efforts to improve financial performance
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
  • 8 - 10 years of leadership experience in general accounting/finance areas
  • Experience with standard cost accounting, inventory management, GAAP, Sales and Use Taxes, and Capex evaluation
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence others and deliver individual results
  • Experience supporting manufacturing business environment
  • Demonstrated experience with effectively leading teams, coaching and developing individuals
  • Travel Required: Up to 35%


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
